I dunno, I don't think so really. Stuff like this I like to work on even if it isn't immediate. Diesels don't scare me either. in fact most of my "fleet" if you'd call it that are diesel and I've done ground up restorations on all but the deuce. Transmissions, transfer cases, axles, I do everything when it comes to mechanics and up till now it's been mostly on vehicles. Getting into tractors is becoming sorta fun and I find they are far simpler that working on other vehicles plus I can actually use these for something other than just driving around or hauling stuff. I kinda see this tractor stuff as a mechanized swiss army knife and I enjoy the usefulness of them plus it isn't like restoring a vehicle and I have to worry about every nitpicking detail with the exterior and interior, worrying about getting every little dent out of the sheetmetal, worrying about having to get the paint JUST perfect or the colors JUST right. I like the freedom of being able to make it up as I go! :)

Product Review: Lead Substitutes - by Mike Schordine. Lead was oriinally added to gasoline as an upper cylinder lubricant. It lubes the valves and seats. If you rebuild the motor, you could use hardened seats and valves, and unleaded fuel. But if your old tractor runs good, a simple lead substitute added to the gas is a perfectly reasonable solution.
