Butch WI said: (quoted from post at 18:34:51 08/13/07) Hey all,
This is going to be my first trip to a tractor salvage yard. The proprieter says that he has a couple things I need. SO, I am going to pack a tool box, lunch, a digital camera and what ever else I think I may need ( I hope I leave room to bring something home.) Do any of you scrapyard veterans have any suggestions? I am truly a greenhand when it comes to this!

Al L. in Wisc. This won't post on the old board for some reason so I will try it here. Adjustable metric wrench=crescent wrench; PB Blaster/WD-40; persuader=a hunk of pipe large enough to put over the end of any wrench I take along, although lots of times I forget it; a socket set breaker bar if it isn't in with the socket set I grab; gloves; a cooler w/ice and Coca~Cola=I don't like paying $1.39 w/o tax for a cool drink; coffee mug. I also keep an eye out for mom and pop bakeries along with small town cafes. Don't know where you are at or headed for sure, but you may want to check: Lakeside Farms, Marquette County, Harrisville, Wisc. was there ~ four yrs. ago; Al's Tractor, East of Augusta, Wisc. also Downing Tractor, East of Downing, Wisc. or Wisc. Tractor Parts, rural Black Creek. Good luck and keep us posted.

This article is a summary of what I have gathered up from various sources on the Gletrac General GG and the B. F. Avery model A tractors. I am quite sure that most of it is accurate. The General GG was made by the Cleveland Tractor Company (Cletrac) of Cleveland, Ohio. Originally the company was called the Cleveland Motor Plow Company which began in 1912, then the Cleveland Tractor Company (1917) and finally Cletrac.
