I used to hit the yards 3-4 times a week when I was scrounging Oldsmobile parts hot and heavy. I learned real quick what tools to carry out to the yard with me instead of dragging the heavy tool box out there. I usually took one rachet and a small set of sockets of the sizes used on the car, a phillips and a straight blade screwdriver and a pair of channel locks or vise grips. Just tools that I could fit in my pockets as I carried the parts back to the office. A 5 gal plastic bucket can sure come in handy too! If I ran across something I needed another tool for I would just take off the things I could and then carry them back and while there get the other tools out of the truck. It always seemed the good parts were always way out in the back 40. I will add, the MOST important thing I would take out to the yard was a wad of TP, it never failed, I would get to the back 40 and "nature would call". Have fun!
