No I didn't.{Auuuugh!} I thought a new one shouldn't be much more than $100 so what could it cost to fix this old one. They guy at the shop said I'm sorry I didn't call you but JD guys come in here all the time wanting their stuff fixed to keep things origonal. Well this is on a farmall. He assumed and I didn't ask. Guess it's a very costly lesson on my part.
