paul, if the shop built you a new ram, the price is in the ballpark for their work. granted, you probably could have purchased another cylinder cheaper. i had 3 cylinders rebuilt for the loader on my m. have somewhere in the area of 550.00 in the cylinders. problem was i could not get cylinders to match the ones that were on it. would have been a bunch of fabrication to switch to another cylinder type, so i bit the bullet and had em rebuilt. (the loader was an american road equipment loader). the problem with old equipment, when something breaks and its no longer available...its....on to the machine shop! or junk the unit.
