Hi again, The super chief bottom has a one peice four bolt lay, they have been on most plows since about 1960. The X series bottoms have an offset bolt in the top hole that mounts the bottom to the beam, this allows the point to be tipped down after the lays have some wear in hard soil. The X series is available only on the super chief. The plow chief bottom has a two peice lay, like Hugh said parts are hard to find and exspensive, so if you want it for show and only occasional use they would be good. The super chief has been used on vertualy all IH plows since 1960. It should not be too hard to find one someone has junked or at a salvage yard, any IH plow be it pull type, mounted or semi-mounted all have the same. There will be a tag on the back of the molboard identifing the super chief X series if it is still readable. Unless you plan to buy new molboards be sure to get all four bottoms off one plow because there is a variety of them and they don't all throw the same. The short tonque must be about 3 ft long and the long one is about 6, it was used for a cat or onland plowing. It is nice because it straitens the angle of the tongue both sideways and verticaly. I haven't been using email lately because my computer is so slow but will watch if you want to use, and sorry I don't know how to get yours. I will copy my manual as soon as I have time, Chuck

They were horrified (we lived by the railroad), my mother thought the worst: "He’s been run over by a train, he’s gone forever!" Where did they find me? Perched up on the seat of the tractor. I’d probably plowed about 3000 acres (in my head anyway) by the time they found me. This is where my love for tractors started and has only gotten worse in my tender 50 yrs on this “green planet”. I’m par
