Frustrating day. Mostly putting out fires and didn't get nearly the time I wanted to work on the tractor as planned. When I did I ran afoul of this gas line again. Did you guys say you used brake line? Are we talking about the stuff that comes in various lengths with the ends flared and the fittings already on it? Saw a display of these and looked at them but was not sure about the fit so I went with the same tubing and compression fittings that came off the tractor. One of the fittings is "thread challenged" (not guilty, your honor) so I need to replace it but, of course, no one has that particular size (not the hardware, auto parts, or plumbing stores anyway). Small hurdle I am sure, but I am headed for town on work tomorrow and could stop just about anyplace you could imagine. Your suggestions would be appreciated. I just need a tube from the sediment bowl to the carb that won't drip.

On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
