The particular brakes you have on your 1250 are very easy to adjust. The rod that leads up to the brake pedal is threaded on the end toward the rear of the tractor, which allows you to tighten up the slack in the pads thus putting more pressure on your disc when you depress the brake. You most likely have two nuts on the end of the rod. one nut locks against the other so they do not loosen up on their own. have a look at it and I think you'll be able to get them tigthened up. good luck
