Hi Pat, the hour meter/tach assembly was driven from the top of the oil pump shaft on left side of engine IIRC. Here is CNH part number for the drive assy: 3042479R1 COUPLING, BREAK AWAY COUPLING, hourmeter drive, BD-144/17289A up.
Possibly find one from B414,434,444 should be the same for the BD-154 Diesel engine. Here is CNH part number for complete kit for B414: 3045772R93 ATTACHMT/Retired ATTACHMENT TACHOMETER but it is retired. On CNH parts site under B414 the complete kit is listed under: Engine Controls & Instruments 153A.
