In general you have analized the issues your self. Alignment of drive belts is important, but not to the 1/8". Tension should be such that the belt can be pushed in with your thumb about one inch per two feet of belt with fair pressure you would not like to keep up for two minutes. Another factor of belt flip is the belt series including depth of the belt section from inside to out, and the angle of the sidewalls, Just having the correct length is less than 1/2 the battle. look carefully at the belt sidewalls for wear at the wrong angle, and compare the angle with the original belt. Make sure all pulleys are free to turn without resistance, and not dented. Wobble in the area of 1/8" is usually no issue if it is an axieal wobble, and not radial (like a tire that would make a vehicle go up and down) It should get warm, but not hot. JimN
