I bought an M this summer and the tractor sn. plate is missing but the no. on the engine is FBKM 66094. If eng. serial numbers are close to the tractor no. this looks to me to be a 1943. Also a casting date on the housing ahead of the brake pedals is 12-9-M and another on the top of the transmission cover is 12-1-M. Will these help tell the year? Now, my 400 is sn.36691 S. Im wondering if the S has any signifiance and if so, what. Also I see that the begining serial no. in '56, the last year they were made, starts with 29065. Does that make this quite late one or were there a lot more built after this one? I have also heard that some of the real late 400s had the bigger 450 eng. Any truth to this? Thank you for your attention. Roger
