As you found in the book, there were 2 different oil filters on these tractors. The diameter is the same. The later one fits in a case that is only about 5 or 5 1/2 inches tall. When installed, the top comes close to the top deck of the block. The earlier one is about 2 inches taller. The top of it comes well above the deck of the block. Either element should be readily available from the usual sources.
