You can get meters anyplace. Dont buy a tiny one get one that is about 6X4 wnd dont buy a digital. The analog ones are easier to read and understand and dont take a college couse to understand. I have both and use the old one all the time. Should cost less than 30.00. Do you have a manual that describes the switch and the functions of the screws in back. If not I can email you one. Maybe someone else has a good schematic.
