Several things can make that happen: The ground switch on the manifold that shuts off the mag when in D mode could be disconnected, or broken, or not being moved. The linkages that operate the starting valve might be jambed (If it will not crank fast or at all suspect this) The plugs may be fowled and not sparking. Have you choked the devil out of it to get it to fire? some take extreme choke and rich fuel to run on gas. Is the mag in time? Will it fire on ether in the gas mode (do not try this on the D mode!!) is there a steady stream of fuel to the carb? Good luck, Keep us aware of the progress. JimN
