My experience with Radio Shack is that they do not carry fuses for their own meters.
I let a friend use my Radio Shack meter. He brought it back with the fuse blown (probably tried to check voltage with the meter set to ohms). Guess what? No fuse at Radio Shack. I couldn't even order one!
I ordered a self-resetting current limiter from Digi-Key and soldered it in place of the fuse. It works great, but was an unnecessary hassle.
Now when I buy VOM's I make sure the fuses and batteries are reasonably common and available locally.
