I am just starting this path after alot of thought. I've added 3pnts to C's, SM's and added fast hitches to C's. There are no hitches designed for B's that I know of. There are different designs for the C hitches though. I'm looking for one with a cylinder on the back instead of the arms up to the rockshafts and am sure will have to weld up a few brackets to mount it. On adding hydraulics you can replace the engine and torque tube with touch control from a C or just the engine block with the cutout for the pump then plumb your own system. Or get a belt driven pump (like a power steering pump) or an electric pump, or a PTO driven pump, etc, etc, etc. Which way you depends on how much work, money, time you want to put into it, and what performance you want out of it. Each has advantages and disadvantages. Do you want live hydraulics? Do you have more time than money, or the other way around? Do you want something functional or something that looks like it might have come from the factory (even though they never did a production B with hydraulics).

Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract. ... [Read Article]
