Plenty of info in the archives as well! Three valve head with a spark plug above the small third valve. The intake is butterfly valved to allow the switch to gasoline for starting. Third valve open on all cylinders Intake set to small wide open carb Diesel fuel not injecting Mag (or coil on) Starts on gasoline, then when warmed for 30 seconds if warm out, or 2 minutes if cold, the switch is made to Diesel on the fly. Not really operational in Gas mode, Will move in low or second. THey are complex, but fine economical engines used up to and including 450D, and many dozers. Farmall M class was smallest, I think the six in a TD35 or 40 was tha biggest in a mobile machine. Stationary Powerplants may have been bigger. JimN
