The generator could find a ground through that bolt, but the fixed mount is usually the primary path, and the bolt would likely only hold the bracket to the WP grounding at the casting. The bolt is corroded (probably) by leaking coolant/water that got into the bolt hole at the pump block interface, and filled the hole around the bolt with dried out components of antifreeze. Still a tough removal. Good luck, JimN
