Thats why its best (like when you buy a new truck) that BOTH batteries be matched identical in age n size and design and manufacture and EVERYTHING to reduce what actually is an "inherent problem" that if they arent, then one can possibly feed off the other if all things arent equal. Its an inherent engineering problem anytime two batteries are connected in paralell which isnt so much of a problem when they are in series. However, if only one battery cant provide the necessary cranking amps, then theres no choice but to hang another one on in paralell cuz in series the cranking amps isnt additive grrrrrrrrrrr
