I replaced points, condensor and rotor on the J-4 Magneto on my 1948 Cub. I replaced it on tractor after retiming it as shown in the manual. It now starts very hard and when it does start it seems to be running with retarded spark timing. the points are set at .013 and plugs at .023. the rotor is installed with the line on the rotor lining up with the line on the rotor drive gear.the engine was turned to TDC on compression stroke on no 1 cylinder and the rotor lined up with no 1 spark plug wire on the cap. I then turned engine one complete revolution to the timing mark for top dead center and then pulled the magneto away from the engine until impulse coupler just clicked and tightened it in that position. what can be my problem?? Thanks for any answer on this. Gale Roberts wb9rww@wmconnect.com Clyman, WI
