MJD, There has been a lot of traffic on this and other boards concerning spark plugs over the last couple of years (and probably a lot before that too). The only comment I can make is that in my gas M I had to adjust the carb idle and high speed screws to eliminate the overrich fuel mix to keep them from fouling within minutes. After that, I went frpm Champion D-15Y to D-21Y plugs to keep them from fouling long term. I only used the M for mowing pasture at that time and it never got worked hard. That seemed to have a lot to do with the fouling problem. A lot of folks have sworn off Champion plugs because of the fouling, but I've not had any problems since switching to the "hotter" plug. The LP tractors should not suffer this problem as they produce almost no fouling. Run the factory recommended plugs in them. Your mileage may vary, Phil
