back when i first started for the utility company i was a tree trimmer for them and drove the log hauling truck.It was a 1965 GMC cabover with the exact same principal u have there.The only problem we ever had with it was winch controls were in the back and u got so busy watching the log u forgot to look at the truck.A few times we thoguht the winch had stalled only to find the front of the truck was about 5 feet in the air.Your design will work prefectly but just be very careful.Safety first
