I need to make sure of a component in the descriptions given on page 2 about Magneto action. The magneto has two sets of coils in it just like a regular coil. The primary is saturated with magnetism from the rotating internal magnet. The saturation of this coil with moving magnetic lines causes voltage and current to flow making a strong magnetic field around the secondary windings. This voltage/current is then collapsed by the breaker points opening just like a regular coil. The collapse of the magnetism in the primary induces high voltage in the secondary making spark. A mag has just as much chance of making extreme voltages as a coil system. It depends on how much is needed for reliable performance and starting. Modern mags (and others not on farmalls can have advance mechanisms on them to allow better timing, the ones on Most old tractors didn't. So the only real difference is the mag gets its electricity for the primary by generating it in the primary with a permanent magnet. Where the coil system gets its electricity from the battery/charging system. Just being very clear. JimN
