ROPS when made by the owner may be as much a liability as it is a safert device. The use of seatbelts is mandatory. Getting pinched between the bars and the ground is worse than being able to jump off. The design will not have been tested to assure shear loads and crush loads are above those expected. Liability may be an issue if others are hurt/killed operating your machine with a non stock ROPS. With seat belts being used I think the idea is sound if looked at and built like one of the stock units, and fastened in the same robust manor. JimN
