You may be money ahead by finding a used one and adapting it to fit your loader. My son made one for shop class. We bought the main spear at Orschlens, which is a local farm and home here in Missouri. The spear was about $90.00 and broke on the very first bale. I took the spear back, got my $$$ back and the rest of it is leaning against a tree by the shop. I probably had $140 or so invested in it. The neighbors swear by SCHHHHHH ! John Deere spears. Theirs has two spikes on the bottom. I have watched them pick up a pallet with 60 bags of soybean on it. The spikes bowed way down but held. Not suggesting abusing something like this, but I know from first hand they are good.
