I always recommend 00 Gauge cables for 6 volt systems cuz if youre only starting with 6 volts in the first place you sure dont wanna drop any voltage across small more resistive light gauge wimpy cables and waste energy n heat when its put to better use in cranking that starter....... Welding cables are made up more of fine stranded wires for better flexibilty and Im sure they have good quality heat resistive insulation.
