Doug, some tractors have provisions for priming the oil pump to prevent dry starts after storage. I'm not sure if this is the case with the H but it would be worth looking into prior to firing it up. Before even turning the engine over spray some WD-40 into the cylinders and let it soak for a couple days. Be generous with the WD-40, the liquid will penetrate down through the rings and the vapor will coat the cylinder walls above the pistons. I'm sure there are those that would think this to be overkill , however, what I do prior to starting an engine that has not been run for a long while is to pull the tractor with the plugs out, spinning the engine until you have oil pressure. Doing this with the plugs out ( no compression ) puts the minimum force on the crankshaft and connecting rod bearings while the oil is working through the engine bearings. Just keep in mind that the most important thing is bearing lubrication and you won't go wrong. Good luck, John
