Checks the brakes. If the cover is cast, it is a 650, 600, or Super WD-9. It is probably a 650 because your ID plate says so. If the brake cover is tin, you have a WD-9. The hood on a 650 does not have the instrument guage holes that are similar to a H or M. When you start with gas, keep the diesel throttle closed. Open it at the same time you switch over.
If it is open while running on gas, the motor will race for a short period after switching over. You can pull start in Diesel with ether.
