Generator for Alternator

My trusty Farmall 460 is in need of a generator.
I can't decide if converting to the AC/Delco alternator is worth the time and effort. If so, does anyone have any tips/tricks, Do's/Dont's? Is it as simple as 1-2-3 as most people say? Thanks!
