I use a HEAVY duty rotary wire brush on a medium speed Electric or air driven angle grinder. Then a rust killer to get the final bits(You all know the little sons that I mean)Wash it with general purpose synthetic thinners, make sure you've got all the old dust off, and then brush paint with a moderatly thinned high build primer.Brushing on the steel castings wont show much brushmark if you only thin enough to keep the brush moving. Then rub it down to get a smooth well primed surface to spray on.Or if you are going to brush paint the final coat just carry on once the primer has cured(not just dried) Oh before I forget--it takes forever luck mike farmer
