The fuel pump should pump enough that you can hear the gasoline flowing back to the top of the front of the fuel tank which is where nearly all of it goes, some takes the T connection to the carburettor which is a bit of a problem if the tractor has been sitting a while as it takes a lot of cranking to get the carburettor bowl full with fuel before it even thinks of starting. The modern fuels don't help as they seem to lose all the important volatiles if the tractor has sate for some weeks.
