My first thought based on how the tractor felt on the road is that it is not a fluid flow problem but a problem with the sensitivity. It seemed like it was taking a quarter of a turn of the steering wheel before the tractor reacted to the steering input. I thought maybe it might could be bled in case there was air in the system. I do know that I will eventually have to replace the hydraulic pump. About 13 years ago something came loose in the system and scored the wall of the pump causing a slight fluctuation of pressure. It has been run with a front end loader in this condition for years. When you have a heavy implement on the back and raise it up it will kind of bump up and down slightly.
The mechanic changed all of the external filters on the machine when he redid it.
Overfill by 5 gallons? How much fluid does this thing hold??? How do you check the fluid level? I know that it is filled at the plug near the third link. I assumed that you filled it to the bottom of the threads.
