Wellllllllll the answer to your question kinda depends on HOW BAD THE BATTERY IS PLUS HOW BAD THE CHARGING SYSTEM MAY BE..... That being said it takes a pretty bad battery (if its a coil ignition instead of a magneto which dont need or use the battery) and a non working charging system to cause her to run poory cuz of ignition given the whole ignition system (plugs n points n condensor n wires n cap etc etc) are all okay.
I agree with the good gents below, Id worry about a good general ignition tune up first (plugs points condensor cap n rotor n wires) and then replace the battery n repair any charging problems as needed next
Your questions just too wide open and theres just tooooo many causes of poor running to be able to provide much help for now until you do some diagnostic troubleshooting to narrow down the problem
