Hi Webb, here is info from the archives given by Bernard le mécano. Bernard was an expert on this series of tractors having worked at a Case-IH as a mechanic for many years.
Hi Tony, the pressure comes into the PTO clutch pack, by the rear PTO shaft, by 2 seals rings. If you can check the pressure, about 185 to 200 psi, by the small T on the left side. It has a gasket, that blows, under the MCV valve, may be it's your trouble. Bernard le mécano Québec Canada
Another thing to try is: with engine running about 1000 RPM and nothing connected to the aux hydraulic valves activate the aux control lever until the hydraulic relief valve squeals. This shock to the system will sometimes blow dirt out of any stuck valve. Can do the same thing with power steering, turn steering wheel to beyond max until relief valve squeals. CAUTION, ONLY DO this if your hydraulic lines are in good shape. Could blow a worn hydraulic line or hose.
Please lets us know the solution. My brother has 454,495,684 and 3230 which all have the same rear end so it probably will happen to one of his tractors someday.
