Yes you can as long as ya have steering and brakes . Myself i like to pull the valve cover and make sure that both intake and exhaust on # 1 are closed and that i have the timing window on the bell houseing open and set the pointer back in the open window and replace the two 1/4 inchs bolts ans snug down and set the timing at 18 degrees before TDC. then ya remove the ft cover plate on the ft. of the engine and re move the nut clean all around the pump and blow it off real good then start unhooken the lines and linkage . Don't care how ya seal up the lines just as long as they are kept clean . . Some say my way is to time consuming Maybe so but i have never had one that i had to pull the pump back off and turn it 180 to get it to fire . And while i have the valve cover off it is a real good time to run the overhead.
