some one told me once that coverting my Cub to 12 volts was unnessicary, as it was a small sized tractor and 6 volts was plenty. but i was tired of dead batteries and dim lights at 330 in the morning when i had to plow snow to gte out for work. i added a alternator to my cub, because you can't see it under the hood. but i am trying to talk my grandpa in what your doing on your M. i figure convert the gen to 12 volts, coil, voltage regulator, lights and battery, and it would be a low dollar converstion. my 2 cents. jk
