4' x 8' sheets of reverse board and bat (T 111 type)will work and are readily available. Depending on your location, try to locate rough resawn Incense cedar or Western Red Cedar in 8" widths and match the existing pattern on your barn. Cedar (any type) will far out last Doug Fir, Hem Fir or any species of Pine (Ponderosa, Sugar or Southern). As Red said, 26" widths of corragated roofing will also work. For so many years, I was in the lumber/logging industry in the Sierra Nevada mountains in central California. We would custom saw various sizes of the correct lumber for our needs.
