My very amature advice:
You need to make sure you get the "right" IH paint. All dealerships carry IH "red" paint for the later CASE IH models - that is the orange color you are hearing about.
If they are a "good" dealership (my local dealership isn't) they will also have at least two additional colors - one for 1960s (1970s?) and older tracors (I forget the specific year) and one for the late 1960s (1970s?) to 1982 or so (again I know I'm not entirely correct on year). Those two reds are so close in color I can't tell the differance but I'm sure it would show up if you stopped with one can and started with another on the same peice of equipment.
The two "older" reds are very close in color. The "white" color has similar (same?) age breaks.
If you are buying off the shelf at TSC do not buy JI Case IH red - that has the orange hint in the color. The color should only state International Red.
