old timer said: (quoted from post at 16:51:28 11/08/07) you all remind me of a bunch of chickens --when 1 picks another they all start picking -- all he ask for was a price i didnt see where he was trying to get anyone here to buy it -- the tractor looks good thats all i got to say
Ditto to that.
If its as good as they say, $8500 is a steal. Would NOT be leaving my farm if it was mine!! gave 3000 for a 856 DT407 15 years ago,,, had a ratty cab, bad steering hyd line, and a flat tire. Engine was overhauled 1500 hours before we got it, since then, new clutch, and a new injector pump, and put on a 1466 cab on it, once it was all fixed up mechanically, its a stout workhorse. Shoot, if you walked out in the field to a farmer who is running one of these tractors,,, said hey wanna sell it??? They may fall off the tractor from laughing at ya! Cause they know what they are, what they can do, and what one can bring at most decent farm auctions. Dont seel it short at all. if its a good one, it will go to a good home for what ever you want for it. If ya dont get what you dont want,, dont sell it. JMHO...
