I just read the posts below and all are good ideas, but I saw you already pulled the head off so what I was going to add won"t help now. If you can get hold of a radiator test cap with an air pump on it and pull the oil pan off you can see if there might be a crack or leak in the bottom of the block. With about 15 lbs pressure on the water it will force it out and you can see if it is coming from a bore past a piston or from the block or down the pushrod or drain holes. If a head inspection fails to find it you could put the head back on with the old gasket cleaned up good of course and test it. If you use a new gasket and it leaks, you will have to put on another new gasket when you put it back together after fixing the problem. If you have a non pressure radiator it may not work with a tester since the rad neck is different.
