Scott: I know what would be going on if it were mine, be taking steps to get my money back. If these manufacturers can't make them all look the same, get them out of your life.
In all my many years of tractors and the engine rebuilds that comes with it, only twice did I buy aftermarket, and neither piston-sleeve kit had endurance. Probably bought a dozen or more kits from manufacturers and all were good.
Bear in mind, I haven't done an engine in a few years. I have a gut feeling CaseIH now treat these old Farmalls as after market, quite possibly it's all junk.
