The wrist pin holes were bored crooked. The guy that got them said he would get more pistons for that kit and see if he could get some straight ones. I told he that he better get a dozen or so, so I can pick and choose between them for the straightest ones, he just laughed, but I was serious. I'll probably wind up stripping the engine down, cleaning all the assembly lube off and repackaging everything and send that " pos kit" back, should have known better. Called Case and they get $249.00 per hole, piston, pin, rings, clips and liner, no bearings, gaskets, etc. If it were mine, I would bite the bullet and be done with it but this guy is on a budget.
I'm telling the owner to try a Tisco kit from this site instead. If he doesn't go along, I'll just tell him about how the nice, new, hot, oiley pieces will be his reminder for the next job. By the way, those pistons were Clevite. Who knows who made them though, no doubt thay came over on a boat.
