Frog, Its a Piece of Cake. All youre doing is running a switched (dash mounted On/Off Ign Switch) hot ignition wire down to an external coils input (NOT to distributor) terminal and run the coils other output terminal into the distributors points n condesnor connection/terminal. The ignition switch can get its BAT input voltage from the load side of an ammeter or the L terminal on a 4 terminal Voltage Regulator.
Just match the coil voltage to whatever voltage the tractor battery is (i.e. 6 votl coil if 6 but 12 volt coil (or a 6 with an external series ballast resistor) if a 12 volt battery) Also match the coils +/- polarity to that of the battery, i.e. if at Pos grnd the coils - gets voltage from the switch while its other + wires to distributor or if at Neg ground the coils + gets switch power and its - wires to distributor.

To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
