I had a problem with my SA a few years ago after it got warmed up & was working hard mowing, wide open in 3rd with a Woods L59 belly mower. After about 5 minutes it would start crapping out & loosing power. When it cooled off, it ran fine, but again once it got to operating temps, it started missing & running rough. I figured out it was sticking valves when hot, so took the head off, removed all the valves, cleaned up the stems best I could and started using a lead "substitute". That actually seemed to eliminate the sticking valves problem, but I eventually overhauled the head and engine anyway, so don't use it anymore.
