You have likely made up your mind about the 384 already. But thought I would add my $.02
We like our 384. While we were looking for a Hydro - this one works well for us. We have an IH 1850 loader mounted to it - and it works well. It can be a little awkward to get on and off, especially with a loader as you can only dismount from the left side. What also "can" make it awkward is the fact that the gear shift and Hi-Low levers are right between your feet. There is a plus to that though. If you are doing loader work , reverse and 1st are right in line with each other. It is not a shuttle shift, but it makes for a fairly quick cycle.
Tractor has ample power to run loader. This summer we were plowing VERY hard ground with an IH 36 3f plow mounted to it - handled it no problem. It is the smallest tractor on the farm and it is a good utility tractor.
Up north, here in Canada, we find that the glow plugs DO actually help starting in the winter - no problems there. Parts - easy to get. I replaced #1 fuel line this fall (simply preventative maintenance) and the part was in the area depot.
Prices - they can run anywhere from $7995 -$10,000 CDN dollars easily esp. with a loader.

PS: Speaking from experience, don't run it out of fuel. It does take two people to bleed and prime the fuel system.
