Here is a pic of my unit Hugh. I see what you are saying about the pitch of the blade on a high tractor such as mine. Seems like modifying the hardware would require less time and materials than making my own (which I have parts for), but you make darn good point. If the blade is too narrow, then the snow will fall around the tires during a pass. I think that for that reason alone, I'll just take the blade and frame I have, and cut the blade to 72", making my own. the likelihood of finding the perfect IH factory blade for my unit is pretty slim.
