There is no relief valve in that unit. One is required or you will ruin it. You need the flow control valve or priority flow valve. That unit only requires 2 1/2 to 3 GPM to operate. Your pump is likely pumping 10 to 12 GPM at 12 to 1500 PSI. The steering unit won't stand all that. Google Char Lynn or OEM and you can buy a priority flow valve for it.
