One of my 140's would not go into 2nd gear a couple yrs ago. I was able to finally force it in after I kept yanking the top of the shift lever. I drained the transmission oil and there was a lot of water in it. I flushed with diesel several times and and oil the last time before filling with HyTran. After that it shifted fine.
You could take off the top plate and look in also.
