A former owner of my 300 Utility twisted off the set screw (below the surface of the casting) on the water pump pulley. After an EZ-Out snapped off, I had to carefully cut out off a piece of the casting to remove the remains of the EZ-Out and the screw. Fortunately, it looks like I salvaged enough threads to install a new screw. Then it took a week-long soak and a couple of hours of careful tapping/whacking to loosen the pulley in order to remove it and clean the dirt and rust off the threads.
If that’s supposed to be a practical design for a machine that works outdoors, I must be missing something. It seems to me an adjustable or spring-loaded idler pulley would have been the way to go.
