H and M had no dipstick standard from the factory. 2 petcocks on right side of engine. Open top and add oil till oil flows from top petcock than close top petcock. Very crude way of checking oil and can be messy also. Years ago I thik TSC.stores sold a dipstick that replaced the top petcock but had to remove oil pan to install it. BIG IMPROVEMENT! Also their is a flat spot at the top of the frame rail on right side of engine where I have seen a dipstick added. I have not done this yet but thinking about it. Maby somebody that has done this will explane this and post a picture. This dipstick would be where it is on 400/450 tractors. I added one of the petcock dipsticks on an M in the 1960,s. Armand
